The best part of my day

Middlesex v Surrey

I enjoyed this entry on the Howies blog which enthuses over how perfect an English summer can be:

even though i love working at howies, the best part of my day is usually the ride home.

especially on days like today when the sun is out, but the air is cool enough so you don’t start sweating straight away.

and the swallows are daring each other to fly closer and closer in front of your wheels

and the banks along the roads are growing out with cow parsley, red campion, willow herb and buttercups.

the only down side are the flies that sometimes smack you in the face.

it was so nice this evening that i took a long, long route home. 15 miles rather than the usual 7.

hoping the weather holds for more long rides home.
