Lots of people have ideas and dreams of things they want to do. I often see friends' eyes light up as they tell me their dreams, only to see the bright lights fade as they mention that horrible word 'œBUT'. But the kids, the money, the job, the family, the dogs, the cats... We did the challenge for fun. 100% completely, absolutely and utterly for fun.
It may seem an odd place for a microadventure, but I'mll argue that's what makes it worthwhile. There is a deep sense of triumph and satisfaction to be had from finding even a modicum of serenity in an area populated by 8.3 million people. For that evening, we did something out of the ordinary. We were naughty little scamps, out late on a school night, without a care in the world.

Being a professional adventurer, it's almost like an oxymoron in a way, because the whole idea of being an adventurer is to go and challenge yourself and get away from it all, but to become a professional adventurer you have to be in the middle of it all.
I'mve been lucky to do a lot of climbs in the Himalayas, and they've tended to succeed. Most hard climbs in the Himalayas fail.
