    Shouting from the Shed 84

    Shouting from the Shed 84

    Hi again,

I hope you’ll find this newsletter interesting, helpful or fun. If you do, would you mind sharing it on Twitter? Thank you.

Here are a few things I’d like to share with you today (and don’t forget the archive newsletter down at the bottom)… 👇

    • I spent a bit of time putting together a collection of my YouTube videos with the most ‘likes’. Doing it reminded me of so many wonderful experiences I’ve had from combining adventure with filming and story-telling.
    • The Virtual Resilience Challenge from the Youth Adventure Trust is back (19 to 27 February). Please get involved if you can! Every penny raised will help vulnerable young people build their resilience by getting outdoors.
    • Blackdog Outdoors is a platform for re-connecting people with the great outdoors as a tool for helping with mental health.
    • A new start after 60: ‘I was a globetrotting photographer. Then I stayed home – and my world expanded.’ I LOVE these photographs.
    • A fantastic essay about an insane 3,100-mile race round one city block.
    • The First Mile is an immersive-travel podcast, bringing you untold stories from the world of adventure.
    And some quick snippets… 👇

    • ✂️ The Mars Curiosity Rover has a great Twitter account. It makes me really, really want to go bikepacking on Mars!
    • ✂️ Over the past year I’ve been collaborating with the fabulous artist Anna Brones on a series of posts about coffee adventures outside.
    • ✂️ Ready to get creative? The 100 Day Project is a free global art project beginning on February 13th.
    • ✂️ You can find wildness everywhere, even underneath the bird feeder in your garden.
    • ✂️ Wide tyres on bicycles are not slower than skinny tyres. 🤯
❓Can I help you? Let me know if you have a relevant project that my readers would appreciate. Here’s what you guys have been up to recently… 👇
    • ❤️ Richard made a film about about when he tried to walk alone across The Greater Caucasus Mountains, through Russia, Georgia and Azerbaijan. The Russian police thought that he was a spy and started following him.
    • ❤️ Jonny helps to run a charity called Stand by Me that are holding an event called February on the Floor to help kids around the world get their first bed. By giving up your bed for a night, a week or a weekend you can help transform a child’s life.
    • ❤️ Matt is organising the Armchair Adventurer Festival Bootcamp from 25 to 27th February if you want to learn from some top adventurers.
    • ❤️ Two more dates for your diary.
      – 14th March. A webinar with Nick Hayes and Suzie Wheway about land access (or rather – our *lack* of land access).
      – 7th February. A webinar conversation about wild swimming, pollution and water quality. Feb 7th. Hosted by the Sheffield Adventure Film Festival.
