I’m nervous about this book as it is a big shift away from my usual writing about adventures and travel. It’s a book about nature and paying attention. It has some rants about land use and litter, access and agriculture. And, to be honest, not a lot happens!Â
My hope though is that Local nudges readers to consider questions such as:
- Do you yearn to connect with wildness and natural beauty more often?
- Could your neighbourhood become a source of wonder and discovery?
- Are there any wild places left within your own community?
- Could exploring your own neighbourhood change the way you see the world?
- Do you find inspiration and wonder in the everyday moments of life?
- Have you ever felt the call of adventure, only to realise that sometimes the most remarkable journeys unfold close to home?
- Are there remarkable things waiting to be discovered on your doorstep?
My biggest hope for the book is that it encourages you to get a map of where you live, and spend 2024 exploring your local area. You can buy those maps here:
If you are still reading this far, I’d be so grateful if you bought a copy today.
