As part of my quest to find microadventure in Britain I set out to walk from Exeter to the source of the Thames following the route of the Fosse Way, the longest Roman road in Britain.

[…] Nice one Al […]
One thing I hate about all your adventures, micro or otherwise, is that they instantly make me think: ‘Aw, I wanna do THAT!’ and then immediately after: ‘But that would be copying – damn Al and his originality!’
So I’m going to walk the Fosse Way with a fridge. Or something. :)
Imitation is flattery… ;-)

Enjoy that fridge!
Staggeringly ingenious.
Historically fascinating.
Inspiring to those of us who can’t do the massive things you do.
Yes, your Microadventures are definitely a touch of genius!
Brilliant video too.

Wonderful 5 day trip! What camera did you use for this?
Have got a river trip planned very soon and wondering what camera to take.
Hi Hugo,
I used a Canon 5D Mkii.
If you are doing a river trip can I suggest that you watch this little vid I made: http://vimeo.com/16580852
And also buy yourself a GoPro Hero HD for the water phases…
This is a great video – really good stuff. An excellent advert promoting tourism in the UK. I might try this route when I am next in Exeter with enough free time.
