I was thrilled recently to receive an email telling me that two 4 and 6 year old girls have made it to the summit of Snowdon. The highest mountain in Snowdon is no mean feat for someone that young.
I was pleased to hear that this adventure had come about through my talk of Microadventures. Tim Meek has set up his own website to encourage young families to get out there and Do Stuff. Have a look at his Do Try This At Home site here.
Thanks for the mention, Alastair.
We’ve done a lot since the Snowdon trip including Scafell, another of the Yorkshire 3 Peaks, shelter building, ghyll scrambling, lots of ‘one-pan-cooking in the outdoors’ and other stuff (all on the http://www.dotrythisathome.com website of course) so other families can maybe think about doing similar.
After all, we all need inspiration and I must stress that much of my (our) inspiration comes from your good self – so thanks for that!
Tim
You’re doing brilliant stuff – I think it’s great.
