| IÂ spent a year exploring my local map and becoming increasingly alarmed about the state of nature and the world.
What the heck could I do about it all?! The world is a mess!
After spending far too long despairing that IÂ wasn’t being invited to give a grand speech to the UN IÂ decided to try looking differently at things. I had done nothing to help anyone so far with all my moaning and hand-wringing.
Quite a lot of my experiences around my local map had involved negative emotions about the problems IÂ was seeing.
So IÂ decided to return to the very first grid square IÂ explored, but this time with a positive attitude that I was going to take my first tiny little step towards actually doing something.
And it was great!
Did I save the world? Pretty much. (Not entirely true).Â
Did IÂ fix that specific patch of land. Nope. But IÂ did leave it better than it was when I arrived.
Did IÂ come home feeling really upbeat and inspired to keep getting out into nature and doing little things like this? Absolutely.
It was great. I highly recommend it. If you’re despairing, try choosing a tiny bit of hope to help get you moving forwards again.
Below is a short film showing what I got up to.
