Christoph Dressler’s photoblog of his microadventure
What a great idea, very much up for this one! I’m spreading the word via Twitter and my blog.
I’m not getting this anti-tent fascism :-)
When I was in my bivvy in the rain last week I had to agree with you!
It’s about being closer to nature, in a way. some people call it free camping or cowboy camping if you sleep on the ground without a tent or tarp. it’s practiced usually when you know it isn’t raining.. but I always camp in my hammock and use a tarp if it starts to rain. If you’ve never tried it, it is really fun.
The microadventure concepts is so simple and pure. I can’t wait to post my adventure soon. Good luck people…
Good luck!
I’ve been taking my son (who is now 10) out on micro adventures for the past 2 years and we are both looking forward to taking part in this challenge.
YES! I am doing this! When is the last day we can submit our entry by? My adventure partner has a big track meet the weekend of summer solstice so we want to do this the next weekend. Will we still have time to submit?
If you submit by the end of that weekend you’ll be fine!
Looks like wonderful fun…any (useful) suggestions for those of use who live in the sweltering, buggy, corn-covered/unscenic Midwestern United States?

Yes! I like this idea, a nation goes wild camping in bivvys on the solstice, perfect.

I’m not on twitter ;)
ups… i just saw we can enter through multiple ways. nice! read more – scan less ;)
Love this! Although it might be a good idea to show people how to build a fire that doesn’t damage the land (unlike the videos posted here) or you could end up with hundreds of people starting dodgy fires all over the place!
Have been doing it for last several weekends now. I was with my Kuvasz boy exploring waterfalls in Hamilton area (Ontario, Canada) while hiking on Bruce Trail last weekend. Took a nasty fall on a rock due to poor light conditions.
While I may not qualify for the challenge due to my location, I am going to take it anyway for my self-esteem lol.
Can we enter if we are not in the UK!??
You can definitely enter, but I fear you won’t be eligible to get the prizes…
